Primary school in Neston celebrates opening of new nursery

Run by S4YC in partnership with Neston Primary School, the new nursery welcomes children from nine months through to preschool and offers all-year-round care from 7.40am to 6pm, providing valuable flexibility for busy parents.

Families have already given warm feedback about the new provision, with children settling quickly into the refurbished baby and preschool rooms.

The spaces feature the latest early-years resources and equipment, including dedicated baby-sized art and creative areas – giving even the youngest children opportunities to explore, create and learn.

The experienced S4YC team have been praised for their warm, caring approach, with children quickly developing strong relationships with their new carers.

S4YC also runs Neston Primary’s wraparound provision for primary-aged children, creating a complete childcare offer on one site.

The wraparound setting has been transformed into an exciting space featuring an Xbox, mini climbing wall, pool table, table-top football and a huge range of resources for creative activities.

The partnership between S4YC and Neston Primary goes beyond childcare – nursery children share the school’s extensive outdoor spaces and are welcomed into school life through activities including assemblies and coffee mornings.

The school says this familiarity allows for a seamless transition into Reception.

David James, director of S4YC, said: “We are delighted with how the nursery has opened.

“The children and babies have settled incredibly well and the feedback from families has been fantastic.

“We have created a really special environment, but it is our wonderful team who make the biggest difference.

“They are experienced, highly trained and, above all, warm and caring.

“Our partnership with Neston Primary gives families something really special – high-quality early years care, wraparound provision and a genuine pathway into school, all in one community.”

Annabel Elliott, headteacher at Neston Primary School, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the start the nursery has made.

“Seeing our youngest children and babies so happy and settled has been wonderful.

“This is about creating a real community for families from the very beginning.

“Children can start with us as babies, grow through nursery and preschool and then make the move into Reception somewhere they already know and love.

“It is a fantastic partnership and a really exciting new chapter for Neston Primary.”

With places already filling and new families joining, S4YC is now planning the next stage of development – an exciting new outdoor space for the nursery, building on the already fantastic outdoor provision available at Neston Primary.
