HERE’S what you need to know ahead of the launch of the new IKEA store in Chester.
The Swedish furniture giants first confirmed in April that a new smaller store would be opening in Chester, and the opening date, Thursday, October 9, is almost upon us.
The new store is one of three of the new format stores launching this year, alongside IKEA Harlow and IKEA Norwich.
What’s happening on the day?
IKEA have confirmed that a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 10am on Thursday at the Greyhound Retail Park site.
IKEA is also giving customers a chance to walk away with an extra special surprise as the first 300 IKEA Family Members to visit the store will receive a gift card, with values ranging from £1 to £1,000.
How does it differ from other locations?
The Chester store is part of the retailer’s expansion strategy with the aim of bringing the brand closer to where many people live, work and socialise, in locations like suburbs, towns and smaller cities where the business has previously not had a physical presence.
